Summer Sleep Tips!
So many of us experience disrupted sleep especially during the summer, sadly these disturbances can disrupt our health, making us feel anxious and irritable. It is so important during these current times to make sure we can get a good few hours sleep of a night….
We hope these tips are useful!
Keep your bedroom cool, we always like to keep curtains and blinds closed during the heat of the day, as the sun begins to go down open your windows to let some air in.
Use a fan if the room won’t stay cool, place a little bowl of ice cubes in front of it to let the cooled air circulate.
Avoid alcohol so your body and organs aren’t working overtime to regulate your core temperature.
Try to avoid late night snacking and late meals, that way your digestive system isn’t working during the time your body is trying to relax and prepare for sleep.
Block out the light with an eye mask.
Try and remove electronics from your bedroom, not only for the blue light but to remove the heat.
Spray a fine mist of cooled water with lavender in it over your sheets and pillow, this will not only cool your bed but also relax your mind.
Try having the last float of the day on a Wednesday, Thursday or Friday, come in and see us wearing your pjs if need be.
