Your Desk Is The Devil,
YOUR DESK is genuinely the devil.
This morning talking with our lovely corporate clients after their monthly float & massage combo I realised that 'desk life' is so physically draining.
But, not only that, your posture is so heavily compromised when leaning over a keyboard that it impacts how you unconsciously breathe, disturbing the natural flow of your blood and oxygen around your vital organs....
Makes sense when you think about your posture how your digestive system might feel squashed and cause you issues, or how the lack of blood flow through your lower body might make your hips and knees feel stiff...
We are so busy trying to get deadlines complete, admin tied up and emails responded to that we've forgotten to move but more importantly we've lost the ability to breathe functionally.
By breathe functionally I refer to Nasal Breathing and using the Diaphragm across your lower ribs. .
This week I've worked with 3 people to improve their breathing, strengthening their core and lower back and also helping to clear sinuses ready for a better nights sleep.
At the end of April I will be working with a large secondary academy to help their staff implement very simple breathing techniques to bring them calm in moments of high stress.
