Ice Bathing Wim Hof Style!
What happens when you finally put your money where your mouth is and attend a Wim Hof Fundamentals morning?
To the clients that have spoken to me personally about cold showers and breathwork I finally did Wim Hof Method and got in a 0’ degree ice bath and I bloody loved it!
I floated yesterday morning to reflect on the breathwork, yoga session and plunging into the ice bath and I just feel refreshed; like someone has replaced all of my blood. It such a strange feeling to feel lighter and brand new, tricky to describe but absolutely something I want to do again and again!
Katie Millett puts you at instant ease with her energy, welcoming you into her garden annexe, walking in I spotted the tin bath tubs and was contemplating turning around…everyone else that was attending either had an ice bath at home or went cold swimming, my thing is cold showers and i did feel a little out of my depth. Katie definitely has the ability to make people feel relaxed and her friend Mouse came with incredible drinks, snacks and an ‘easy to follow’ yoga flow.
The day just felt comfortable, although with strangers (I’m quite introverted so not always happy in groups of people I don’t know) it was calm and felt like community with a common desire to ‘feel better’ and ‘get cold’.
I’ve put a quick video of how the day went on our Youtube channel and you can find the link. During the breathwork I entered a place of my mind that felt like there was nothing there, the room was empty and I was peaceful, I even took a little longer than the others to come back round. Something shifted in that moment and reflecting on it more since then I’d say its very similar to the 40 minute mark in a float session, a moment of clarity I suppose.
You cannot put a price on your health.... and I can safely say after this weekends Wim Hof session that I will aim to have the fundamentals session quarterly it is well worth the money spent!
*full disclosure... I look very composed in the pics and video because the first time I went it I wasn't being filmed so I had to go in a second time. By this point I was able to control my breathing much better that time around.
